¡Disfruta! Enjoy!
¡Bienvenidos al mejor verano que nunca!
56,660 people. That's how many folks live in Segovia. Interestingly enough, Chapel Hill, NC has 57,233 people, just so you'll have an understanding of the amount of people in the city. Since it's near the base of a mountain range and surrounded by countryside, there is a lot of nature to see. For instance, you could be hiking and come across a herd of sheep but surprisingly enough, there is always something cultural going on around here as well. Such as flamenco music, for free! Here are some photos of a random Friday in Segovia so you can get some flavor for what goes on here. ¡Disfruta! Enjoy!

On friday we went to a plaza right outside of the old city to watch some live flamenco music. The plaza was filled with people of all ages who wanted to enjoy the authentic music of spain.

Friday night was a really great time! We had every single person from the group come to watch the Flamenco concert in Plaza de San Lorenzo (even McConnell and Luis) and I think this was a great way for us to explore another part of the culture that we may not have before. It had a beautiful backdrop for the concert and the group that performed was really talented, I had a great time and hope we can do it again!

Every day when I walk to school, or anywhere for that matter, I am reminded how beautiful Segovia is! On my way to school, I pass the statue of Juan Bravo, the magnificent overlook for the mountain the locals call "La Mujer Muerta," the aqueduct, several old churches, and streets and streets of interesting apartments and stores. Segovia is a beautiful city, and I'm always finding my new favorite place in the city.

The flamenco concert last Friday night was great. It was a great way to see what a Segovian fiesta is like. People of all ages came together to hear the sounds of the beautiful flamenco music. The concert went on past 12 o'clock am. As we walked back to our houses, people still filled the streets. Nightlife doesn't end early here!

Segovia is such a cool city! Although it is small, it is packed with so many cool places and things to do. Friday was super fun because we were able to go to a Flamenco concert. It was nice to see tons of Segovians, young and old, out in the city having fun and enjoying great music. I was truly impressed with the view of the Segovia at night because it was perfectly lit up with lights that highlight the city's natural charm and beauty.
